About Scott Social
Scott Social is a boutique social media marketing agency with clients and team members around the country. We elevate and streamline the social media presence of small to medium-sized businesses, from beautiful content creation to heart-to-heart community management and everything in between.
We’re looking for an experienced Video Editor who’s available for 10 hours per week.
We’re looking to hire one Video Editor to join our team for around 10 hours per week.

Responsibilities:
Become an integral part of the team. Work with our Social Media Strategists to create Reels and TikTok concepts for multiple clients.
Create and execute a variety of video projects across multiple platforms, including editing existing and new video footage for multiple uses.
Edit digital footage seamlessly, making edits imperceptible to the audience.
Incorporate trending audio, dialogues, graphics, subtitles, and other effects to enhance the video and optimize it for social media engagement.
Think outside the box to brainstorm unique, original, innovative, and relevant Reels and TikTok concepts that stand apart from our client’s competitors.
Spend time understanding clients, their business, and their expectations. Prioritize the client’s target audience, tone, and branding while filming and editing videos.
Identify growth opportunities, new tools, processes, and automations, and help implementation.
Participate in weekly team meetings and collaborate with the team to brainstorm unique ideas and track emerging trends for clients.
Attend a retreat in Washington State during the second week of September with the Scott Social team.
Optional: Do you love filming too? Film UGC-style content for Scott Social and/or multiple clients, as projects arise, on location or at your home.
Skills + Abilities:
Writing Skills – Consistently write error-free content without spelling, grammatical, and formatting mistakes.
Attention to Detail – Must be detail-oriented; able to follow processes and routines. Execute social media publishing strategies ensuring that all posts are accurate, punctual, safe, and on-brand.
Professional Communication – Communicate respectfully and constructively with team members, even when discussing challenging requests or providing feedback. Express concerns in a solution-oriented manner.
Time Management – Effectively manage one's own time, adjust to changing priorities, and meet all assigned deadlines despite interruptions.
Proactiveness – Anticipate problems, needs, or changes and pivot accordingly.
Problem Sensitivity – The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
Comprehension and Expression – Comprehend and communicate information and ideas so that team members and clients will understand.
Visual Communication Skills – Collaborate with a graphic designer to craft visuals that educate, motivate, and engage the viewer.
Creativity – Creatively lead, attend to, and oversee innovative, unique, and original client campaigns from conception to implementation.
Requirements + Qualifications:
Proven work experience as a Video Editor
A clean and well-presented portfolio showcasing video editing skills for social media
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in film studies, cinematography, marketing, or a related field
In-depth understanding of timing, motivation, and continuity in film editing
Familiarity with color-grading and color correction to create consistent color tones or styes throughout a video
Passion for staying up-to-date with emerging design trends and industry developments
Interest and familiarity of social media platforms, including TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and Twitter
Ability to work in a productivity-focused and deadline-driven environment
Experience in adapting design and editing style to the audience of varying clients across industries
Ability to manage deadlines to deliver tasks on schedule and problem-solve through issues
Must have availability to work during business hours of Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm
Must be detail oriented, a clear communicator and a problem-solver
