Brand Photos in Phoenix | Top Locations to Consider
You’re ready for new brand photos, so you start where everyone does: looking for a brand photographer in Phoenix.
All you have to do is find someone whose work you love and book a dreamy studio, right?
Not exactly.
There are outfits to plan, props to style, shot lists to build, and upcoming launches to think ahead for. You’ll want photos with enough blank space for text, different crops for different platforms, and can someone please grab some behind-the-scenes footage for TikTok?
That’s the part of a brand photo shoot no one really talks about.
The photographer takes the photos, but there’s a whole lot of planning and running around that happens before you ever hear the first click.
And if you want a gallery full of gorgeous shots you can use across your social media, website, emails, and launches, that’s the part worth planning for.
What a Brand Photographer Does (and What They Don't)
First things first: we love a great brand photographer. They’re the ones behind the camera making sure the lighting is right, the composition works, and you somehow look natural while pretending to answer an email on your laptop.
If you hand them a clear plan, they'll make it look incredible.
But here’s what most brand photographers don't do:
Define the story each photo is telling
Build a shot list around how and where you'll use the images
Decide what to wear, what to bring, and what to leave out
Make sure you leave with content for your website, Reels, emails, and launches (not just headshots)
Some brand photographers help with pieces of this, but most are there to work their magic behind the camera.
When we plan shoots for our social media clients, we’re thinking about it through a slightly different lens: we’re the people who will actually be using this content for the next three months.
So trust us, we have a list.
The Real Question Isn’t "Who's the Best Brand Photographer in Phoenix?"
It’s, “Who’s making sure you leave with the content your business really needs?”
Because it’s easy to get caught up in the moment on shoot day.
Maybe you found a photographer whose style you love and left with some amazing headshots, laptop photos, and the classic hold-your-coffee-and-laugh-at-nothing shots.
But then two weeks later, you’re designing your homepage and realize you needed a horizontal photo with room for a headline… Oops.
The brands that get months of content out of one shoot know what they need before they arrive.
They know which products and services are getting the spotlight, what’s coming up on the marketing calendar, where the photos will live, and what they want the whole thing to feel like.
Once we have all of that, the rest of the planning process is so much easier.
What Goes Into Your Favorite Brand Photos
Here's what we plan before shoot day, every time.
Start with the end goal. Website? Instagram? A service launch? Paid ads? How you'll use the photos shapes what we shoot, down to the color story. We source backgrounds, clothing, and props in specific colors so every image feels on-brand and each campaign looks distinct but cohesive on your grid.
Build a shot list. Ours are typically 20-30+ pages, mapping out every shot so the photographer, models, and team arrive knowing exactly what we need. It keeps everyone on the same page and makes shoot day way more efficient (our models tell us this all the time!).
Choose what to wear and bring. We source, purchase, prep, and even resell props when needed, often thrifting to add more character (and reduce waste). We’ve driven two hours for vintage skis and carried a vintage TV onto a plane. If the shot calls for it, we’ll find it.
Set the scene on purpose. This is where the location finally comes in…and why we love a clean, blank-slate space. Instead of squeezing your brand into someone else's aesthetic, we build a set that looks and feels like you.
Source the right models. We have a roster of 50+ models across the country we’ve personally worked with and trust. We know their style, personality, and which brands they can embody. We’ve even cast a “fake couple” who started dating after the shoot. (The chemistry in those photos? Very real.)
Provide the necessary fuel. Food, drinks, and sometimes even water aren’t a given on commercial shoots. We always have snacks, beverages, and meals for our creative team because humans do their best work when they’re taken care of. Our models are regularly shocked by our snack table, which is still crazy to us.
Why We Shoot Quarterly (and Why It Works So Well)
We shoot quarterly for our clients (and our own brand) for one simple reason:
A single shoot gives you a handful of images you'll burn through in a few weeks.
Four planned shoots a year give you a deep, ever-growing library you can mix, match, and use all year long, so your feed never feels stale or repetitive. Each quarter gets a new concept and a new set of ideas in a new season, so you're never recreating the same photos twice.
That's the difference between running out of content by March and having something new to post every single week of the year. Our clients love that, and we get to keep dreaming up new shoot concepts!
Okay, But Where Should You Do A Brand Photoshoot in Phoenix?
Once the plan exists, this is the fun (and easy) part.
There are plenty of gorgeous places for a brand photoshoot in Phoenix, so the “best” one really depends on the look we’re trying to create.
A few directions we love:
Blank-slate studios like REFINE – Neutral spaces with beautiful natural light and flexible layouts, so we can style the shoot entirely around your brand. A clean canvas means every shoot can look completely different.
Lifestyle locations – Airbnbs, boutique hotels, restaurants, coffee shops, or your own storefront.. These add personality and context, but also come with more logistics (permits, foot traffic, lighting, timing).
Just remember, the address doesn’t determine the outcome. The plan you walk in with does.
What Does a Brand Photographer in Phoenix Cost?
Fair question, and the answer surprises people. The photographer and the studio are usually two of the smaller line items. Most of the value is in the planning, creative direction, and styling that make the photos worth using for months.
There’s no single price tag you can stamp on brand photos in Phoenix because every shoot looks a little different.
Depending on your shoot, there may also be a studio or location rental, hair and makeup, props, wardrobe, styling, creative direction, planning, and editing involved.
Here’s a peek at how a brand shoot budget typically breaks down:
TL;DR — Paying for a photographer gets you a photographer. Paying for a planned shoot gets you content that still works for you months later.
